Nutrition and Weight Loss Support at Tri-Lakes Family Care

Tri-LakesNutrition & Weight, Practice News

Want to learn how to eat better? Looking to lose weight? Nutrition is one of the most powerful tools we have — and one of the hardest to use alone.

What you eat plays a central role in managing weight, blood sugar, blood pressure, and cholesterol. For many of our patients, the right changes to a daily eating pattern do as much as a prescription — and sometimes make it possible to reduce medications over time.

How we can help

We work with patients on nutrition as part of ordinary primary care, and we offer medication-assisted weight loss for those who need more support than diet changes alone can provide. That includes a one-on-one consultation, personalized lab work, and regular follow-up to track how things are going.

Nutrition support can help with:

  • Weight loss
  • Diabetes and prediabetes
  • High blood pressure and high cholesterol
  • Irritable bowel syndrome
  • Fatigue and low energy

If you would benefit from working with a registered dietitian, talk with your provider at your next visit and we can discuss a referral.

Our approach

We are not going to hand you a photocopied low-fat, low-calorie sheet and send you on your way. We would rather help you build an eating pattern around whole foods, as God designed them, that you can actually live with — one that fits your household, your budget, and your schedule. A plan you abandon in three weeks is not a plan.

You can read more about how we think about this in our article on diet sodas and artificial sweeteners.

Interested? Call our office at (417) 332-3639 to make an appointment, and we will talk through the options together. See our Insurance & Billing page for accepted plans and self-pay rates.

As always, stay healthy and happy!
